The South African Secular Society in collaboration with DiNK is proud to announce an event with Simon Nightingale.

Simon is a recently retired consultant clinical neurologist from the West Midlands in England and Senior Lecturer at Keele University. He is currently chair of Shropshire Humanists. He has been trained by Humanists UK as a funeral celebrant, a school speaker volunteer and a non-religious pastoral care volunteer (chaplain). He is a member of SACRE (Standing Advisory Committee on Religious Education) which oversees the religious education curriculum and compulsory collective worship in local state schools. He is involved with interfaith dialogue, both locally and nationally. He lectures on humanism, neuroscience and philosophy and assisted dying. He talks regularly on Radio Shropshire. He is married with four children, one of whom, Sam, is a consultant neurologist in Cape Town. After family, humanism and neuroscience his greatest passion is metagrobology.

Simon is visiting his son, Sam, in Cape Town and agreed to give a talk on Humanism, what it is and why it is important. We look forward to this special event.
